This is my finished front cover of my College Magazine entitled 'Student Life'. I chose that title because I think it is basic and straight to the point. The picture I used is of 3 male students, all reading a textbook and discussing the contents. I think this symbolises learning whilst socialising, which nearly every college student could relate to. Also i positioned the camera so it would catch the 'East Norfolk Sixth Form College' sign in the background. This is because it is yet another thing that the readers can relate to, also it is what college the magazine is based about. I have used a slight colour scheme, which consists of yellow/orange, blue, white and black. The yellow/orange and blue are the colours associated with the college, therefore that links back to the fact it's a college magazine. The black and white are mainly used for the contrast they create within each other, also they stand out from other colours. My target audience is obviously teenage college students. However, instead of going with the typical stereotype teenagers are given, e.g. that they are all anti-social hoodies who vandalise anything they can get their hands on, I have chosen a more realistic approach. I think teenagers would respond to the brighter colours and the articles on offer, for example; the 'Whats On?' guide. They would find this useful as teenagers tend to be bored, with nothing to do in their spare time, I know this from personal experience. I also used the recent college party as a story, the students would take interest in this because the majority of them would have attended the party, and would most likely like to read an article about something they attended. Overall I think I would reach out to my target audience with this front cover. However I think my front cover is very male-orientated. It only displays male people and the articles are mainly stereotypical male-related subjects. This is something I could improve in my music magazine.
